4B4The 4-B-4 means four compositions learned before the current lesson. Assigning the 4-B-4 to be practiced each week is a great way to constantly review concepts. It's a lot like typing drills in that if a student plays over and over in review, soon they will begin to automatically play the correct keys (eye-hand coordination). Constant review pays off and it's fun to play "old" music that one really knows.
Practice a little each day...until you are playing your pieces well! It is not the quantity but the quality that matters. | Non-practicing:If your child is not practicing daily the assigned lesson material, he/she will not be thriving in class time. I work continually on class continuity and believe strongly that music sharing creates better musicians. Although your child~
I recommend a posted practice schedule and parent involvement. If no improvement is made, your child may need to move to a review class or leave the studio. Most of the time, a little attention to the practice habit is all that is needed! Students become more confident when they are prepared. Group piano improves self-esteem and personal responsibility! |
